cucb81 Posted June 10, 2012 Report Posted June 10, 2012 I was ready to go ahead and bid on a Hotel in Amersterdam. Just one night but then I realized that I might have a problem when I check in.I have two little kids. One is 2 years old and the other one will be 11 months. We are co-sleepers and always sleep in one bed but could I have problems?I checked out Hotwire but the hotel there is $200+ while a 5 star hotel on priceline is less than $100 it seems. Any suggestions?

Are you basing the assumed PRICELINE rate on previous wins for dates which are different than your own? What are the date(s) of your trip? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. cucb81 Posted June 11, 2012 Author Report Posted June 11, 2012 Yes, I do base it on what others have won in the past. I base it on 2 adults and two kids (2 years and 11 months). I am looking at August 6th to the 7thThanks
thereuare Posted June 12, 2012 Report Posted June 12, 2012 Few comments...rates are date specific, so you can't always use the prices that others have won for when your dates are different than your own. Your dates may be higher/lower demand and therefore room rates can be very different if rates for their dates were less than for your own stay.when search for more than double occupancy rates will often increase, especially in Europe where 'standard' rooms are typically designed to only accommodate double occupancy and rooms for quad occupancy may be an upgrade from 'standard' and therefore cost more.rates in Amsterdam really spiked about two years ago and while we do see sub-$100 wins from time to time, it's not as common as it was 3+ years ago when hotels could often be won for mid/high double digits (but still not necessarily for quad occupancyUsing BiddingHelper.com what is the best rate you're able to find thru conventional booking channels for this nite? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
