I just got back from NOLA. I was thoroughly surprised with the hotel. The Omni was awesome. I highly recommend the attached Thai restaurant, Sweet Ginger. Their lunch menu is the same as their dinner but half the cost. If you are going to park your car and use valet service, expect a long wait. The parking attendant must run 2 blocks to fetch your car.

The location of the hotel is two blocks north of Harrah's and two blocks west of Canal. Thus, I was happy with the walking.

The swimming pool is 8 feet by 4 feet. Thus, it is not for exercise purpose but wading. The fitness room has a separate sauna for both sexes. Newspaper and apples are complimentary as you exercise. Gladly, there are no fitness attendants staring at you. There are 1 bicycle, 2 treadmill, and 2 climbing machines. There are no elliptical treadmills. The weight machines are one big machine with multi-use functions.

The lobby, halls and rooms are highly decorated. It is a nice, spacious room with complimentary shampoo, conditioner, moistureizer, mouthwash, shower cap, coffee and 2 regular bar size luxury soap (not the travel one). They even have a bar with snacks and alcoholic beverages in the room (really expensive).

I also was worried with the reviews that I have read. I will defenitely want to come back to this establishment.
