Hi. How should i go about using these websites for bidding . Never used them before. My budget is 100 -130 $ . Preferabbly midtown or downtown.

Start here: I've Never Used Priceline or Hotwire which explains the general similarities, and differences, between PRICELINE and HOTWIRE.

To move forward with PRICELINE, use the search box on the top right of this page (enter 'New York City, NY' in the search box) and see how PRICELINE splits up this region... let us know which zones, by PRICELINE name, you're willing to accept. Note that you mentioned 'Downtown' above but if you're not familiar with NYC, be aware that this isn't the heart of the city... it's mostly the financial district and most users prefer the midtown area as a central point. The Downtown zone is certainly do-able, and for the right price it may be preferred to a more expensive midtown location, but it is about a 20-25 minutes subway ride to midtown (where you may likely be spending most of your time), so a discounted price would need to be worth the trade-off of convenience (unless some/most of your plans center around the Downtown area)
