thereuare Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 Congratulations on your success! Hope you're pleased with the purchase and this property will work for your needs this trip. Not sure if you're local or where you're coming from, but if you're not familiar with this area, one of the best (imo) things about Seattle and Bellevue, is that they have great Happy Hours with food specials... often twice a day (once during 'normal' Happy Hour times and another late nite). If you can eat a little early you can often get some great deals at high end restaurants on both food and drink, making for an inexpensive, but still great, dinner.Thank you for using the HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchase and sharing your win, helping us add this property to the Hotwire Hotel List. carpediem888 Posted June 9, 2012 Author Report Posted June 9, 2012 Thanks for the added details on the twice-daily happy hour possibilities in the Seattle/Bellevue area, Thereuare! This is a great money-saving and local tip. Yet another reason I love the Better Bidding site!I'm not a local per se - my sister and her family live in the Seattle area but I have visited a number of times and stayed in Seattle proper, Redmond, and Bellevue. I love Bellevue since its close enough to Seattle for touring but a clean modern upscale suburb. Getting out of the Texas heat for a while by traveling up to the Pacific Northwest. It turns out that the Hyatt House used to be known as another property name (Hotel Sierra) before converting. I read up on the Hyatt House and Hotel Sierra's reviews on another well-known travel site after Hotwire disclosed the property name. So far so good.
thereuare Posted June 9, 2012 Report Posted June 9, 2012 When in Bellevue here are some of my Happy Hour thoughts/experiences (granted it was a few years ago but at least the first 2 are high end places so i wouldn't expect quality to deteriorate by too much):Daniels' Broiler at the Hyatt - gorgeous views of the lake, show up near the beginning of HH and get seat outside if it's nice and watch the sunset over the lake (bring your sun glasses). We ordered a few appetizers (i think ~$4-$7) each and a few drinks... food was 'good' but nothing to rave about, imo.John Howie Steak - this was my favorite Happy Hour with an excellent burger on a fresh baked bun (~$8) and drafts of their house beer on tap ~$3)Tap House Grill - 160+ beers on tap :o so a good place to try some new/different beers... but food wasn't that good, imo.The one downside is that most Happy Hour specials are in the bar area and only, and due to Seattle law, no one under 21 is allowed in any bar area (even if there are tables for eating within the bar area)... so if you have kids you'll need to plan accordingly (or find places with Happy Hour throughout the restaurant).Have a great trip... and thanks for the compliments on BetterBidding! :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
