Val L
I am trying for November 9, 2012 and want to be in area #8 San Juan in a Resort (we stayed at the Marriott Stellaris 5 years ago through Priceline and really liked it). I have unsuccessfully bid from $105 up to $138. The rooms outside of priceline are in the $200-$220 range for that date. Any suggestions for rebidding? Is it possible to win a bid for an amount that was rejected on a previous day or should you always bid higher? Not sure what (if anything) special is going on in San Juan at this time but airfare is up too. I would think its a little early for Thanksgiving. Thanks in advance for any ideas! Link to comment
thereuare
While it may ultimately take more then $138/nite for this stay, i also think it may be too early to chase this one much higher with 4 months to go before your arrival. I see the InterContinetnal with a $219 refundable rate (the $198 rate is non-refundable) and the Marriott you previously enjoyed is $209 refundable... i would book one of these as a back-up and then continue to try PRICELINE one/twice a week for the next two months (perhaps with a $145/nite maximum bid if that is acceptable to you)... if still unsuccessful then increase the frequency of your bids (and possibly your budget based upon current rates at that time)Thoughts on this game plan? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Val L
I went ahead and booked through the Marriott Stellaris ($229 with senior discount). Then decided to try again with Priceline and after several attemps $140 was accepted ($164 with taxes & fees) and we got the Marriott Stellaris!!!! Very Happy!!! Now to cancel my other reservation LOL. Thanks for your help! Link to comment
