livinsinn Posted July 30, 2005 Author Report Posted July 30, 2005 yes, 1st attempt. Did a little homework and had a pretty good idea I would get the Casa Marina - but since our toddler no longer uses a crib, there's no reason to stay at the Casa Marina, with the Reach a closer walk to duvall street. So I'm actually happy with the result!!The Casa Marina has king beds, so if you only need one bed, this is the place to stay since the Reach resort only has Queen. But if you need two doubles, the Reach is the better location near Duvall Street and the property is basically the same, and both Wyndham's.If you don't like to walk, they both have shuttle service to Old Town Key West - Duvall Street.(and don't forget to call the hotel when landing, as they both offer airport pick-up/drop-off). Most hotels in Key West don't offer this service and it's a $7.50 per person charge by cab.Yes, we've been to Key West often, (but never through Priceline or Hotwire). As a Govt. employee, I get great rates, but decided to give it a shot this time - and am very happy as the best rate for the period was $135 nightly (Govt. rate)
