ATLTraveler
I am looking for advise on NYC hotels. I haven't been in years and want to spend a couple of days doing the tourist thing: Broadway Play, Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, etc. I am open to all areas of Manhattan, but would prefer to be in Midtown or Downtown. Any suggestions of hotels, star rating not real important as long as it is clean and safe. No firm maximum just cheaper than what I can book through the internet. Link to comment

ReviewsWould Jersey City, NJ be an option? Doubletree is showing $152. With a little help, it may be won for less on Priceline. Link to comment
ATLTraveler
I would like to stay under $200 a night. I want to stay in Manhattan, not interested in Jersey City. Link to comment
thereuare
At the 4* level you have two re-bid zones availabel... if you're not familiar with re-bidding please read PRICELINE RE-BIDDING and feel free to ask question and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board. The following is how i would bid:Select 4* MTE....Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone....Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW....Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone....Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* UM/CPS....Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone....Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and MTE....Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone....Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $180, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and UM/CPS....Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone....Bid $170, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $180, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and MTE and UM/CPS....Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone....Bid $195, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $200.If the above is rejected i would book the Beekman Tower as a back-up.Any questions feel free to ask and let us know how it goes.Good Luck. ATLTraveler
I tried all bids as suggested and was rejected. Would you suggest lowering the star to 3 and lowering the bid. I did book as a back up the Ramada on Lexington for $179. It is 100% refundable if I find a better option elsewhere. Was thinking about trying priceline again a few days before my departure. thereuare
How high would you bid for a 3*? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
ATLTraveler
I booked the Ramada Lexington for $180. I would venture to guess this is probably a 2.5* hotel. I would probaly bid up to $180 for a Priceline 3*. It may be a little nicer, but the location of the Ramada works well for me. Link to comment
thereuare
Is that the Ramada on ~31st street? Not certain you'll be successful up to your 3* limit, where you only have one re-bid zone, but i would try:Select 3* MTE...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* UM/CPS...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* MTW...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* MTE and UM/CPS...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* MTW and UM/CPS...Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $170, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* MTW and MTE and UM/CPS...Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $180.Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
