Priceline Hotel: Help on bidding for hotels in NYC!

Hi everyone,

I am looking for a 4 star hotel in NYC, I'm not too particular about the area, of course, the closer to major attractions the better but I know NYC is well connected so I'm more concerned with the star ratings. What are your bidding strategies and where do you suggest the best price for a 4 star would be? Also, is it better to bid far in advance or the closer the better?
