hippocampus Posted June 5, 2012 Report Posted June 5, 2012 It says through other sites would be $284. Amenities: near beach, free internet, fitness center, golf nearby, roll-in shower, restaurants, smoke free rooms. Any idea what hotel this is? I read the 'Your Messages' already.
hippocampus Posted June 5, 2012 Author Report Posted June 5, 2012 Hi, I was wondering how Priceline and Hotwire handle hotel availability. For example, on the website for a hotel or resort they might say there is no availability for my dates. The same is true from other sites such as Hotels.com. Does this mean Priceline or Hotwire won't have availability either, or would it tell me if the hotel was full for my time range?
thereuare Posted June 5, 2012 Report Posted June 5, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! We have seen hotels won thru PRICELINE and HOTWIRE when the hotel's own website, and other sources, was otherwise showing a sold-out condition. However, this is more the exception than the rule, and when the hotel itself is showing sold-out your chances of winning that property are greatly reduced... what hotel is it that you're referring to?For the HOTWIRE property above, if you run your search again and and click the 'See all' link under the amenities are there more than you've listed above? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. hippocampus Posted June 5, 2012 Author Report Posted June 5, 2012 I wasn't necessarily referring to a specific hotel, but many of the ones I've checked for my dates on Waikiki beach are showing unavailable on other sites. I just wasn't sure if Priceline or Hotwire would come up with something if it showed unavailable. Today it is giving me $299 as the price on other sites. Yes, there were other amenities. Here is the full list:Near Beach Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Golf Nearby Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Free Internet Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Handicapped parking Roll-in shower I'm wondering if it could be the Hilton near the marina simply because most of the 4-star properties in my selected region are resorts with spas. However, I don't know that the Hilton is $299 regularly or whether that figure is even credible. Thanks for the response, and yes I have been using your links.
thereuare Posted June 6, 2012 Report Posted June 6, 2012 The crossed out price shown by HOTWIRE is not necessarily for the specific hotel you'll be receiving, but the average price for hotel(s) of that star rating and dates in the zone over the 24-48 hours.I'm not sure which Hilton you're referring to near the marina (the Hilton Hawaiian Village??) but my best guess for the HOTWIRE property above is the Hilton Waikiki Beach (2500 Kuhio Ave). Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
