Hello,

I've booked a 4* Renaissance Blackstone thru Priceline.

We are 2 adults and 2 kids. When I look-up the confirmation number at marriot.com, it seems the reservation is for king bed with max occupancy of 3.

(I understand PL guarantees only two).

Now, what are my options ?

I already tried emailing the hotel thru the link on the website, but haven't heard anything back.

Should I call ? or..just show up and try my luck ?

Advise appreciated.

Thanks for the follow-up!

I would call the hotel and request a room with two beds, without mentioning the fact that you'll actually be 2adults/2children and see their response. Under 'normal' conditions i would simply just take the chance (depending upon the age of your children... easy to do if they're 5 and 7 years old... harder to do if they're 15 and 17 years old). However, this is the start of Lalapalooza and there is a good chance that the hotel will be busy and near fully occupancy. If the hotel won't take the request for a room with two beds, i would ask if you could pay for an upgrade now to ensure two beds (not mentioning that you'll be four people, but rather indicating that you're traveling with a business colleague and would rather not share the same bed). Depending upon the cost of the upgrade (you can try to negotiate a counter-offer if you feel the upgrade rate is not reasonable) and your risk tolerance would determine if you pre-pay to ensure a two bedded room now.

Let us know what path you do pursue and how it all works out.

You can have part of the party wait outside until after check-in. Otherwise, you could call the hotel and see what they say. I don't believe this property charges more for 2 beds vs 1 bed, but they could still say no to the request, especially if it's busy. Additionally, it's an older property and rooms with two beds may be lesser in number.
