Intropy Posted June 3, 2012 Report Posted June 3, 2012 I'm looking for help bidding on a hotel in Rittenhouse Square - Business District of Philadelphia for the night from 6/6 - 6/7. My budget is around $180. I'm willing to rebid multiple times so I think my best strategy is to start at 4 stars is that reasonable possible to obtain and then move down from there if necessary.
Intropy Posted June 3, 2012 Author Report Posted June 3, 2012 4.5-star Hotel in Center City West / University CityThis Hotel features the following amenities:Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center High-Speed Internet Access Accessible for the deaf Free Internet Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Wheelchair accessible Accessible bathroom Roll-in shower Is there a post explaining how I can do these identifications myself?
Intropy Posted June 4, 2012 Author Report Posted June 4, 2012 I'm sorry if it was against the rules to post once in Priceline and once in Hotwire for researching the same stay. For anyone reading it, that second post asking about identification is referring to a hotel on Hotwire.
thereuare Posted June 4, 2012 Report Posted June 4, 2012 I wouldn't say "against the rules" but just the format that we have found works best ;)For HOTWIRE hotels you can at least start by looking in the Hotwire Hotel List for the respective state you're searching for. However, lots of new amenities have recently been added by HOTWIRE so it will likely be a bit of time before you find any exact matches. For the 4.5* property above my best guess would be the Sofitel upgraded since the last time it was reported to the board (and with a new amenity set as well). Regardless of what it is, this HOTWIRE property is showing an excellent 4.5/5.0 TA rating so i wouldn't be too concerned with quality for this one.Do you want to go with this HOTWIRE listing OR if you'd prefer to try bidding on PRICELINE for this stay, let us know and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Intropy Posted January 6, 2013 Author Report Posted January 6, 2013 Thanks for your help. I ended up not making an aside to Philadelphia and instead stayed in New York - on a friend's couch that night since I couldn't make any better combination fit my budget.
thereuare Posted January 6, 2013 Report Posted January 6, 2013 Sorry you couldn't make the side-trip, but hopefully you enjoyed the time with your friend. Thanks for closing this thread with your decision. Please remember to follow-up your threads with whatever you end up doing for the stay, even if you choose to book direct, cancel your trip, etc. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
