tenthofmay Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 Hello, I was hoping I can get a bit of help. I've never booked a room from priceline before and I am looking for a hotel that would accommodate 4 people in a room (2 double beds). Preferrably Times Square area on June 9-12 (last minute I know). I know that I can't guarantee a room with 2 double beds but is there a way to make sure I get a room with that specification? My budget is $150/night. If anyone can help me or guide me that would be wonderful. Thanks in advance!
AaronJB Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)The issue with NYC and PRICELINE is that the service only guarantees 1 bed/double occupancy. While you can request two beds via the hotel after reserving, rooms in NYC are often on the small or VERY small side (130-160 sq ft) and rooms that offers two beds often go for a premium, when available. Overall, with NYC, there is a high risk of getting one bed when using the service. HOTWIRE, where you can indicate the amount of people, ensures some form of bedding (commonly 2 beds, but can be 1 + sofa or other combo) for the party. There is no way to guarantee *exact* bedding with either service. Additionally, do you need to be in TS? While the most widely known area, TS is also the most expensive and most crowded - other areas nearby are convenient and less. Let us know your thoughts on the above and we would be happy to offer further suggestions.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
