nupdcop Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 Stayed here 1 nights stay on a Sunday 5/27/12 - during a holiday weekend. I have to be honest and say that it looks dated from the outside. The property is basically 5 different buildings which to me shows it's age. We were able to check in a full hour early (2pm). Staff was very nice and had no problems being with priceline. **BIG TIP** upon checking in ask for a room with a balcony - it's a little more free room and you will see what I mean when you arrive - nothing bad about it just extra space to sit outside attached to your room.Anyway we got a balcony and it was nice to be facing Mt. Rushmore Road. The building is older but the room was very nice. By older I mean they have a window style air conditioner that is in the wall and base board heating. The bathroom is very nice by my standards... it is big and the shower was great. We had two beds in our room which were nice and soft. We all slept great. The room hs a nice TV with plent of channels, clean all the way around. Breakfast is in the main office building where you check in. By far one of the best setups for breakfast I have seen in a long time. Upon check in I was told the breakfast the following morning was Biscuts and Gravy... They were good. The make your own waffel was also good and didnt stick to the waffel maker. There were eggs as well which tasted fresh. Other bread items and cereal items as well. No reason to leave this place hungry that is for sure.My wife did say upon arrival - "what kind of place did you get us" When we left she said "wow, it was really a nice place". We both agree that we would stay there again. Hotel is about 10 minutes from the interstate and right along the main highway (HWY16) that gets you into the black hills.2.5* is what I would give this just based upon the 5 different buildings the rooms are split up into.
