scophreak Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 I'm looking for a single room in Boston for 8/7-8/10. I am interested in 3* and higher properties in the following areas (in order of preference): Copley, Downtown Boston-Charlestown, Cambridge-Brookline. I would like to pay in the vicinity of $80/night and hopefully stay under the $90/night range. Thanks in advance for any help...
thereuare Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding! What is more important, a zone preference or price? (ie- would you rather pay $80 in Cambridge or $90 in Downtown, as an example)Also, are you familiar with PRICELINE RE-BIDDING? You have two re-bid zones when bidding the 3* level in Boston, let us know if you know which they are and feel free to ask questions or confirm them with the board.Let us know your zone/price prefernce and we'll outline a strategy for you to follow. scophreak Posted July 20, 2005 Author Report Posted July 20, 2005 Thanks for the reply... Although I do have some preference between the zones, price is a more important matter in this case. It appears that the Medford and South Boston zones are free rebids for 3* and up. I don't know, however, how to go about bidding when multiple zones (3 total) and multiple star levels (3 and up) are acceptable to me. Any help is appreciated.
thereuare Posted July 20, 2005 Report Posted July 20, 2005 How would the Hyatt Regency in Cambridge work for your needs?Hotwire has a 4* Customer Favorite in the Cambridge - Charles River zone which is highly believed to be the Hyatt Regency (shows Restaurant(s), Pool(s), Fitness Center, Tennis Nearby, Business) for just $72/nite.If you've never used Hotwire before you could also use the discount code 'giftcard06' at check-out for an additional $10 off per nite... bringing your cost down to $62/nite.Figured i'd ask if this was an option first so as to make sure you didn't bid higher than is necessary on Priceline.Let us know. scophreak Posted July 21, 2005 Author Report Posted July 21, 2005 Thanks for the tip...that actually works perfectly since I have business at BU anyway (right across the BU bridge). I'll give that a try, of course linking through the BB site.thanks for your help, rack rates in the area are astronomical!
