2005petunia Posted May 29, 2012 Report Posted May 29, 2012 Can someone help me ID this hotel? I don't know if I should get it. What I don't like about HOTWIRE / PRICELINE bidding is that one cannot select between a king bed or 2-double beds. It can be a hassle at check-in, especially since the staff is not too friendly with hotwire/priceline bookings.Location: Chelsea - Madison Square GardenStar rating: 4-starCheck-in date: Sat, Jun 9Check-out date: Sun, Jun 10Hotel Rate per night: $168.00Nights: 1Rooms: 1Tax recovery charges & fees: $44.31 Subtotal: $212.31Trip total: $212.31Amenities:Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access, Accessible for the blindSee all amenitiesRecommended:In 80% of Hotwire customer reviews.

2005petunia Posted May 30, 2012 Author Report Posted May 30, 2012 Thanks to both! Unfortunately the offer is no longer available. I would delete this post bu I don't know how to... Thank you again, I will be sure to include the amenities in my future posts and click from the links on this site.
thereuare Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 No need to delete this thread, please follow-up where with whatever you end up doing for this trip... closing your threads with your results (even if your 'result' is cancelling the trip) helps keep the board better organized and useful for everyone.HOTWIRE has a system glitch earlier today and it prevented them from displaying many of their 'opaque' hotels, this was likely one of them as this hotel is once again appearing on a current HOTWIRE search.Best guess for this property would be either the Doubletree Chelsea or the New Yorker Hotel Ramada Plaza. Also, if you change your search to 2adults/2chidlren the same hotel is offered and at the same price, but searching for 2a/2c will ensure you separate sleeping accommodations in the room (assuming that is what you wanted)... but note that the second 'bed' could be a pullout sofabed, rollaway brought into the room, etc, etc. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. (or the links in our Support Page should you decide to book direct)Let us know whatever you decide for this trip or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
2005petunia Posted May 31, 2012 Author Report Posted May 31, 2012 Thanks!! That is a great tip about 2 adults/2 children. I often travel with friends but I don't like sharing my bed. Thanks much!! I had tried putting 4 adults, but that increases the fare considerably, hehehe.I ended up booking another room :( And you are right, the Chelsea Hotel is back on hotwire... But I had already purchased something else. I did find a $179/night for a 2-double beds high floor at the Doubletree Metropolitan by Hilton - not on a bid. Thanks again!!!
thereuare Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 I had tried putting 4 adults, but that increases the fare considerably...Sometimes using 2adults/2children increases the rate as well, but often times it does not... depends upon the policy of the 'hotel behind the wall' as to whether they charge extra for children or not.I did find a $179/night for a 2-double beds high floor at the Doubletree Metropolitan by Hilton - not on a bid.If you didn't, please check for and use the links in our Support Page whenever possible, as we have links to the Doubletree as well as most other major hotel chains and online booking agencies.Thanks.
