bidding_newb Posted May 29, 2012 Report Posted May 29, 2012 Hi,I was wondering if somebody could recommend a strategy for bidding on a 4*+ Downtown Montreal hotel for Friday June 15th. I popped over to PRICELINE (using your links of course) and found a 4* in that region for $131 USD. Should I base my bids using $120 as the ceiling? Thanks in advance! Also, any idea what the hotwire hotel is with the following ameneties: Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Free Internet, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom and an 85% rating.

thereuare Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 On PRICELINE are you looking to bid only Downtown-City Center or do you also intend to include Convention Center-Old Montreal-Latin Quarter in your bidding too? Please confirm the zones you're willing to accept and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. bidding_newb Posted May 30, 2012 Author Report Posted May 30, 2012 I think we'll stick with downtown Montreal as we would like to be as close to the Bell Centre as possible.
thereuare Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 When bidding 4* in Montreal you have THREE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.(NOTE: 're-bid zone1' is not the same as priceline's Zone1, 're-bid zone2' is not the same as priceline's Zone2, etc, etc)Select 4* Downtown...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $90, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Downtown and re-bid zone2...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $100, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Downtown and re-bid zone3...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $110, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* Downtown and re-bid zone2 and re-bid zone3...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $120Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. bidding_newb Posted May 31, 2012 Author Report Posted May 31, 2012 A little concerened about the poor reviews regarding construction, but we'll see how it goes. Thanks for the help.
thereuare Posted June 1, 2012 Report Posted June 1, 2012 Congratulations on your success! Looks like a nice rate for this property, and although it's not uncommon for renovations to run behind schedule, hopefully the bulk of the work will be completed by the time you visit in a few weeks, as it should be nearing completion.Thank you for sharing your win with the board.
