Priceline Hotel: 3* Bowling Green Holiday Inn University Plaza-Bowling Green

Heh! Just did it again as a 2 1/2 Star request for tonight and got the same hotel as my previous priceline win but this time for $45!! I was hoping for a lower rated hotel with complimentary breakfast. Eating at the Holiday Inn hotel dining area doesn't meet my definition of family travel but the facilities are nice. Another breakfast out I suppose....

Looks like another nice deal. While this rate/property doesn't include breakfast, you could see if this hotel will honor the "kids eat free" program if you eat at the hotel, and if not, at least with the room cost at $45/nite it makes spending money on breakfast a bit more palatable.

Well, we're back from Holiday Inn......

This stay was disappointing. In fact next trip I may try for a 2-star hotel or Hotwire to NOT get this place! We arrived early evening and when I asked to confirm my request for a room with 2 beds was told, "Oh, we don't normally do that for Priceline. But yes, there's one available" -????-

We unpacked, went out, and returned about 11 PM. Then found that one of the our beds had a 4" deep depression in the center such that the only comfortable way to lay was face-up like a hammock or perched on the edge of the mattress. The tub felt a little sticky and there was a grey rectangle where the safety mat had been moved recently. Next morning we found that the tub drain was slow and you stood in 3" of water while showering. The sink drain was set up improperly with a stopper that was too long and did not hold water. The room did seem clean.

There was no complimentary fruit in the lobby this time. At 9 AM could we have been too late? The complimentary coffee bar was not maintained, was out of sugar and stirring sticks, and an industrial garbage can was placed nearby for empty cups. Near the catering office and computer room a small trash can was catching a water leak from the ceiling.

Learned that the breakfast buffet was $9.95. Our family of four ate Big Breakfast's at McDonalds for $17.

Do note that the star rating you select is the minimum you're willing to accept, so in the future by bidding the 2.5* or 2* level you don't ensure that you'll avoid this property, since your bid could always be upgraded to a 3* hotel (and you could therefore still receive this property)
