Hi !

We are 6 people traveling together (3 couples) in October.

We're looking for a hotel, but the prices are so high that we would like to give the bidding system a try.

I would prefer to use PRICELINE as the prices are lower.

We are looking for a 3 stars hotel in Manhattan.

Our preference is Midtown West or East, but other neighborhood will be OK too (downtown, upper east and west sides, chelsea, financial district... as long as it's in manhattan).

As far as the price is concerned, we would like to be under 2250 dollars for the six of us (tax included).

Is it possible to book on priceline a room for 4 people (two queen beds for example) and another one for 2 in the same hotel? That would be cheaper I think.

If it's not possible and we have to book 3 separate rooms, then it means that we have a 150 dollars maximum budget per room per night. (tax included).

Can you help me get that ?

PRICELINE is usually cheaper than HOTWIRE, but HOTWIRE gives you the ability to search for up to quad occupancy per room... so it may ultimately be cheaper to book 2rooms/6adults on HOTWIRE vs. 3rooms/double occupancy each via PRICELINE.

Whether 2 rooms thru HOTWIRE or 3 rooms thru PRICELINE, this may be a tough win as this time of year can get very expensive.

If you start by searching HOTWIRE for 2rooms/6adults, does anything appear within your budget? If so, we'll try to take a guess at the hotel and see if that is acceptable, then decide to purchase the HOTWIRE offer or try to use that as a 'price to beat' via PRICELINE.

Thanks for your advice!

I tried with Hotwire - 2 rooms - 6 adults and found

Amenities:

Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), High-Speed Internet Access, Accessible for the blind

$230.00

per room, per night

Midtown central Area - 3*

I have four questions :

- Do you think it's a good deal for this period ?

- Why are the hotels much more expensive during october?

- 2 rooms - 6 adults --> Am I guaranteed that this will be a room for 4 and another for 2 ? Or is it possible that it will be 3 and 3 people? We are 3 couples so we would like not to be separated

- which hotel could it be?

Thanks in advance

EDIT

I also found this

My guess for the 2* Central Park would be the Days Hotel Broadway, and for the 3* Midtown Central, do you see additional amenities when you scroll over "see all" next to the amenities?

With cooler weather, conventions and other events, the Fall becomes expensive and gets more expensive into November/December with holiday shopping.

There is no guarantee on specific bedding, but my guess is that if the hotel had to ensure occupancy for 6 in two rooms, they would rather offer quad occupancy for one room and double occupancy for the other, rather than quad for both rooms.
