Priceline Hotel: NYC Hotel question October 11-14

Hey Guys,

New to the board. Quick question. Last year this time I used Priceline and selected the times square area at the 3 1/2 star at 190 a night. I was very pleased to get the Millenium on Broadway. I loved the hotel and location.

Now I'm going back the same time this year. What are my chances I put in the same info that I'll possibly get the same hotel. If not should I bid a bit higher?

I would say unlikely... chances are it will cost you more this year than last year, and with so many hotels in this zone i would think the expectation of receiving the same hotel is not realistic. If you're trying to target a specific property HOTWIRE can be a better choice, or if you must have a specific property then booking thru non-opaque means is a safer bet.

If you're goal for this stay is a 'nice hotel' at a 'good price (relative to traditional booking channels for these dates)' then i would suggest expanding your zone preferences to include other nearby areas and trying for the least expensive property in any of the zones you find acceptable.
