atlphotog Posted May 23, 2012 Report Posted May 23, 2012 First time user, happy to use your PRICELINE and HOTWIRE link - no worries there. I'm looking to get a special trip together for my gf to San Fran July 3 - 6th, we're doing tourist things like alcatraz and napa. I'd like to get as nice as a hotel i can but also dont want to spend a dime :) Any chance of getting a 4 star for around 119? any other thoughts?
thereuare Posted May 23, 2012 Report Posted May 23, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding!Depending upon the zone(s) you select i think you have a chance for a win at $119 or less, but if that proves to not be enough, then i don't think it would take much more than that (within $10-$20 more).Did you have an idea of which zone(s) you were willing to accept? Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. atlphotog Posted May 23, 2012 Author Report Posted May 23, 2012 I'd be ok with Fisherman Warf, USE USW Downtown/Embarcadaro and any other recommendation you have. I want great views and if i could get the intercontinentals that would be great.
thereuare Posted May 23, 2012 Report Posted May 23, 2012 The Fisherman's Wharf zone doesn't have 4* bidding, so should be exclude this zone (or were you interested in lowering your star rating to include this zone)? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. AaronJB Posted May 24, 2012 Report Posted May 24, 2012 The CLIFT, Hilton and Intercontinental Mark Hopkins are possibilities - I'm guessing the latter two are more likely of the three.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
atlphotog Posted May 24, 2012 Author Report Posted May 24, 2012 Price was lowered to $128 per night wound up with the intercontinental mark hopkins.

Ola Dunk Posted May 25, 2012 Report Posted May 25, 2012 Now we all know the answer so it's a little late for this. But Clift and Inter-Continental has Trip-Advisor rating 4 while Hilton has 3.5. This means Hilton could have been ruled out as far as I can see. The answer is in the details ;-)I have also noticed that reading the HOTWIRE reviews more or less gives away which hotel it is (in this case e.g. The special view from top). On 2 recent occasions I have also been able to read the hotels name in the reviews. I think that's a fault by HOTWIRE admins though but it still happens. Got me Aria in Vegas and The Orlando in LA recently by reading hotel name in reviews.
