felixcatfan Posted May 23, 2012 Report Posted May 23, 2012 First bid. Was hoping to get the Portola... oh well.Nice rate. I'm glad to know you can get that low of a rate on Priceline. I'm new to this thing and I did my first online "bid" and will be staying at the Hyatt Regency in Monterey as well over Memorial Day weekend 5/26-5/29 and I got a rate of $81 before taxes. Right now 2 stars with names are advertising for the 120 a night range. I booked one week in advance of my trip. But I didn't use hotwire or priceline. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say the site I used but someone referenced it in a forum maybe on this site? I don't remember. I got my rate through lastminutetravel.com .I had to wait like 4 days for them to confirm the rate (even though they said it would only take 24-48 hrs to confirm) but that's the rate they advertised with an unnamed 4 star hotel, which ended up being the Hyatt. This hotel also charges $20 a night resort fee. Do you pay the resort fee on top of the Priceline rate? I know I will have to pay the resort fee seperate. Have a fun trip!
