I am up to $205 for one night 6/23 in Boston, with Back Bay / Coply, Beacon Hill, and Quincy Market / Financial District. Four stars only. Not a nibble.

Any suggestions as to how high I might have to go? Is bidding for a Saturday night (without a Friday night) part of the problem?

Have you looked at HOTWIRE?

While their star ratings may not always be the same as PRICELINE's, there are some options at just about the amounts you have already bid:

4.5* Quincy Market - Financial District for $208/nite

4* Quincy Market - Financial District for $230/nite

4* Boston Common - Theatre District for $200/nite

Not in a zone you have already bid but something you may want to consider if budget is a primary concern:

4* Waterfront - Convention Center $161/nite

I have looked at HOTWIRE. I figure (thanks to you) the 4.5 star is The Intercontinental and I would rather not be on that side of town. Going to $230 is not out of the question. By the way, my Hotwore prices are slightly different than yours--$5 higher--and they have been at that level for several days.

It's not uncommon for HOTWIRE prices to be a few dollars difference from one search to the next or one user to the next.

What about the 4* Boston Common-Theater District property which i'm guessing is the The Back Bay Hotel, which is well reviewed with a 4.5/5.0 TA rating.

I'm thinking the Common / Theater District hotel on Hotwire is the W Boston and not The Back Bay.

I decided to go with Hotwire, Quicy Market / Financial District, 4 star, at $213 and it was indeed The Intercontinental. Looking like a very good deal.
