I was so excited that I won my first priceline bid. Now I realize I needed to extend my stay by 1 day. I booked 1 night a Details for Hilton Daytona Beach/Ocean Walk Village for $50 on 5/25-5/26. I tried the link in the email to extend it but it wont allow a 1 day addition.

I tried to bid on this room again for $55 a night but it wont accept that either. So Im not sure what to do now.

Hotwire doesn't have this same hotel as an option for the day I need.

It looks like there is a 4 star at Ormond Beach but that star rating doesnt match up with what they have listed on there site.

I really would like to stay where we are and not have to worry about lugging our stuff, can I try to rebid the same amount tomorrow? If I have to move I will but I would like to stay close to where we are now.

I'm a bit overwhelmed right now and I think maybe stepping away is the best option for right now.

You can try the same bid tomorrow, but if the extend your stay link did not work, and no counter-offer was given, this hotel may not have given any deeply discounted inventory to PRICELINE for the extra nite you need. What is the rate for the additional nite purchasing non-opaque? Using MAPS and HOTELS.com is there something nearby the hilton that is within your budget? (you can use the hilton's address in the search box)

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

The price now is showing $209, but earlier it was starting at $139. The ones that are close to where we are staying are both within the same range of $140-$200. I guess I will try to get another hotel. The other zones in that area don't have any that don't have the 3.5* rating so I know I can't rebid going that route. I guess I could try another zone that is close to mine with a 3.5* rating and see how that goes.

It's hard to concentrate while my 5 yr old rambling. lol

I'm not sure what you're saying here...

Is the additional nite you need 5/26-5/27? How high have you already bid for the additional nite? Is that your maximum bid?

Sorry I meant for the rebidding process it said how to rebid within 24 hours. Using another zone that doesn't have the same star rating. So that is what I was trying to mention. If it was relevant. lol

Yes the additional nite i need is 5/26-5/27, thei highest I bid was so far was $60. I am going to up it to $70 I guess.

For 5/25 the best Hilton rate on their web site is $129. For 5/26 it is $199. You don't have too many days to bid. You probably need to take a deep breath and think of a higher bidding level and/or a lower star level depending upon your budget. And perhaps even consider the nearby Cocoa Beach and Merritt Island areas.

Finding those free re-bid areas is actually pretty easy. Hint - you have to be actually on Priceline to do it.

The reason one has to learn the actual process is that things can change in Priceline. The check for free re-bids needs done just before a bidding session - each day.

You did really well on that first bid, scoring an excellent bargain.

When bidding 3.5* in the Daytona Beach zone you have FOUR re-bid zones, are you able to identify them using the method in Priceline Re-Bidding Explained?

I thought I understood how to rebid. But I guess not. I was using the star rating that was showing on the name your own price pages and comparing that to the list on the priceline page.

We are just going down for a quick visit, driving from VA getting in late Friday night and leaving early Sunday morning. So my main objective was to get a hotel that was close to family we are visiting. they are right next to the golf course so it looks like the closest is Ormond, Daytona beach shores and the airport hotels. There are 4 adults so I was trying to compare which hotels have more 2 bed rooms.

Thanks for all the help so far.

You have to use the zone selection page during the check-out process and select the zones to determine the available star ratings in each zone. As noted on the PRICELINE pages on Betterbidding, you cannot use them to determine re-bid zones because they only list the hotels that have been reported to the board and there may be star ratings in zones where no one has reported hotels to the board.
