kaharr01 Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 This hotel was really nice - everything was clean, comfortable, great location, and the staff was friendly. My only problem was.... my car and u-haul (stopped here during my move to the NE) were burglarized the first night there. What was worse, the staff and manager acted like it was no big deal, and a frequent occurrence! Over $1500 of my belongings were stolen from THEIR parking lot, and they wouldn't even offer any comps, except from the $10 a night parking/wireless fee, which btw is not included in your bid. I'm really disappointed and upset in the way they handled everything. The only helpful thing was that I was permitted to park at the front entrance for the remainder of my stay. Apparently it was the 3rd or 4th burglary in that parking lot in the last month, according to the police officer. ***FYI*** if traveling with a u-haul, back the door up into a wall as close as possible. We detached ours and then parked the car angled in front of it so that a burglar couldn't just detach it and tow the whole trailer away themselves. Instead, they pried back the lock, so that the latch could be lifted up without even breaking our combo lock, leaving the door wide open. I would recommend just asking at the check-in to park in front of the entrance if they don't have a safe parking area. U-haul insurance DOESN"T cover theft!
