Priceline Hotel: September trip to NYC

Not sure if this is on the right board so please go easy on the flames.

My beautiful wife and I are planning a trip to NYC/Manhattan/Broadway in thr middle of September. We have checked some of the packages on Hotwire/Priceline. Are these good deals? Is it cheaper to try for a seperate flight/hotel combination or is it better to go with the package. What are the best days of the week to travel?

Usually buying the air and hotel separately are a bit less expensive than booking it as a package, plus you get the benefit of actually choosing your own flight times (which is a big benefit). You didn't say where you would be flying from, but use our Airfare Checker to get an overview of prices.

It is believed that the UN is in session the second half of September and that has driven up hotel demand in NYC, as well as it being the beginning of fall at which time prices usually increase anyway.

What are the actual dates of your stay?

Looking at 9/15 - 9/18 or 9/16 - 9/19. Looks like the 16-19 is a little better on airfare.

Will hotel rates be the determining factor to confirm your dates or do you have other events which will affect which set of dates you choose?

Do you have a budget in mind, chances are these are going to be expensive/tough dates.
