luv2laugh Posted May 13, 2012 Report Posted May 13, 2012 Hi There! I am in charge for planning a bachelorette party for six girls and am trying to figure out a way to offer our bride-to-be a luxurious weekend with as reasonable a price tag as possible. We have no problem squeezing into a space which isn't meant for six ladies as long as there is actual room (we can sleep on sofas/floor with mat). Priceline says that the rooms you bid on are for 2 people sleeping comfortably. Are any of these rooms in the 4* places big enough for six of us to squeeze in? Do they typically give you the smallest room possible when using priceline/hotwire?Our budget is $300 a night if we can get in 1 room and less than $150 a night we can get two rooms. Whatever I do it has to have some kind of glamour.I am looking at rentals as well, but just exploring these options as well. Thanks for any responses!
AaronJB Posted May 13, 2012 Report Posted May 13, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)I'd strongly suggest at least two rooms, but the other issue with PRICELINE is that there's the possibility that each room may only have one bed, as the service only guarantees one bed/double occupancy. HOTWIRE would be a better choice,, as it allows one to indicate the amount of people in the party and get some form of bedding for the group (2 beds or 1 + sofa) There's also no way to ensure a particular style of property, whereas with HOTWIRE you can at least make an educated guess as to which hotels are showing. What PRICELINE zones would be of interest, or in terms of HOTWIRE, are there any listings that fit your budget when searching for these dates? If so, please provide the details (star rating, zone, amenities, price) of the listing and we would be happy to take a look and try to ID.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
luv2laugh Posted May 14, 2012 Author Report Posted May 14, 2012 I am new to this, so sorry if format is wrong. What hotel would you guess this is?Location: Beverly Hills - West HollywoodStar rating: 4.5-starCheck-in date: Fri, Aug 3Check-out date: Sun, Aug 5Amenities: See all amenitiesPrice: $243/nightRecommended in 90% of reviewsAmenities: spa, pool, fitness center, restaurant, business center, etc.It says $437 other website and was listed as best value. Should I wait until closer to the date or is now a good time to book this?
luv2laugh Posted May 14, 2012 Author Report Posted May 14, 2012 Sorry guys, I used the hotels sticky to figure out that it's probably either L'Ermitage Beverly Hills or Sofitel.
thereuare Posted May 14, 2012 Report Posted May 14, 2012 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. Is the full list of amenities:Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, SpaIf so, then i'd agree that the best guess is the Sofitel.I'd agree with AaronLB and think twice about booking one room for six people... it's one thing to try and stretch it a bit and take the chance of booking a room for two when you'll actually be quad occupancy (and even then there are some cities i wouldn't do it), but six is a point where the hotel could definitely take issue (and if you'll be walking thru the hotel with a tiara on the head of the bride-to-be, perhaps a few drinks in the room before heading out, etc, etc, you probably won't be the most inconspicuous group at the hotel) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you ultimately decide and how it goes or how we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
luv2laugh Posted May 31, 2012 Author Report Posted May 31, 2012 Sorry for not concluding the thread. I actually haven't booked yet. I may not take the chance with priceline/hotwire. If I do, I'm going to be getting two rooms. I agree that we will be conspicuous. Most rooms also look like it would be way too cramped to fit six ladies in unless a suite (which we couldn't book through priceline/hotwire).Thank you for your responses. If I do end up booking, I will conclude the thread with the deal I got.
