jonb20283 Posted May 13, 2012 Report Posted May 13, 2012 Ok everyone I am new to this site, It was recommended form a friend who used it to get some great deals. My wife and I are planning on traveling to Chicago. Here is my dillema, I definately want to stay around all the attractions. Which from what I have read is the millenium park , north michigan avenue area I believe. Our vacation week could start on 7/29-8/4. We are planning on staying 5 nights. I have also read that the palloza festival is 8/3 to 8/5. We have no interest in attending this or getting caught up in all the crowd. So what do you guys think would be the best strategy to not get caught paying overpriced room rates due to the concert? I'm assuming leave on 7/29 and stay until 8/2 but wanted to see if ya'll thought this would still have a high room rate? Thanks for all the help..looking for a 4* probably. Also what would be a good starting point for a bid for this area and time?
thereuare Posted May 13, 2012 Report Posted May 13, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding!Rates are still pretty reasonable (imo) for 7/29-8/2, and rates aren't even that bad for 7/29-8/4 or 7/29-8/5... what is your desired star rating and budget and we'll be able to comment tailored more to your specific expectations. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.... please click each of these links before replying.Thanks. jonb20283 Posted May 13, 2012 Author Report Posted May 13, 2012 Good news thanks for the info...i would like a 4* in the downtown area. What would be a good starting point?
jonb20283 Posted May 13, 2012 Author Report Posted May 13, 2012 Forgot to put budget in there. I wouldnt want to spend any more than 150 a night
thereuare Posted May 14, 2012 Report Posted May 14, 2012 I think you have a chance for the complete stay of 7/29-8/5 at $150 or less, and a little better chance if only bidding for 7/29-8/4.Did you want to try for the full date range first, or a shorter set of dates?Let us know the above, as well as if both NMA and Loop zones are acceptable (or only one of these) and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
