mes Posted May 11, 2012 Report Posted May 11, 2012 My husband and I are trying to plan a trip to Las Vegas for 6/5-6/9. We have stayed at the Palazzo before and got a deal(through HOTWIRE) for about $110. We would like to stay around the same price maxing out at $130. Our check out date is flexible by a day on either side. Please let me know how I should start out?

mes Posted May 15, 2012 Author Report Posted May 15, 2012 Okay I have tried a few times nothing seems to be working.
AaronJB Posted May 15, 2012 Report Posted May 15, 2012 What bids have you made so far in terms of star rating/price?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
mes Posted May 16, 2012 Author Report Posted May 16, 2012 5* and I have gone up to 130. I have seen a few others who have gotten deals on the Pallazzo and they never seem to be over 120. Do they want me to pay more because my trip runs through a Friday night?
thereuare Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 Rates are date specific so you won't always be able to replicate another user's win, especially when your dates are different than your own. Usually a higher retail rate translates into a required higher bid amount to be successful, and given rates in Vegas are often 2x-3x more on weekends then midweek, the Friday nite is likely increasing the required bid to be successful (although i haven't yet looked into if $130 would be enough without the Friday nite included)Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? If not, how high are you willing to bid for a 5* hotel in the Strip North zone for this trip? Is the Strip South zone acceptable an another alternative option? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. mes Posted May 16, 2012 Author Report Posted May 16, 2012 Yes, splitting the trip would be just fine. 6/5-6/9 are the dates. We prefer the North Strip.
thereuare Posted May 16, 2012 Report Posted May 16, 2012 Is $130 your maximum bid for a sub-set of this stay (realizing that you may need to spend more and/or lower your star rating for the additional Saturday nite?). If so:When bidding 5* in Las Vegas you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 5* Strip North...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $123, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $128, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
