b4ketchu Posted May 11, 2012 Report Posted May 11, 2012 Hey guys I am trying to get a hotel room check in on 6/5 check out on 6/7 so 2 nights. I have bidded on 3 1/2 and 3 star rooms in the airport area of Nashville all the way to 100 dollars and have not got my bid accepted. Any suggestions? or does anyone know what else I should try? Thanks
thereuare Posted May 11, 2012 Report Posted May 11, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! As you've discovered rates are high for these dates and i'm assuming there is something happening in the area, do you know what event is taking place? What is the best rate you're able to find at an acceptable hotel in this area using MAPS and HOTELS.com?Is the Airport zone the only area you're willing to accept?HOTWIRE does have a 3* hotel in the Airport zone for $121/nite, but it has not the been reported to the board, so no way to know if it would be a 2.5* or 3* rated property on PRICELINE, although it does have a 'pretty good' 4.0/5.0 rating across the board for all the criteria that HOTWIRE asks guests for feedback on.Let us know the info above and/or if the HOTWIRE offer is of an interest. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Romelle Posted May 21, 2012 Report Posted May 21, 2012 or does anyone know what else I should try?Do consider as many of the zones as will work for you. When you are on the Priceline bidding page, under the map it lists Murfreesboro, TN as a "nearby" location. That might be a consideration.See what Hotwire has to say.I'd guess it probably won't get any better, but to play the long shot last minute thing - make a cancelable back-up reservation and then keep bidding up until the very end. Hotels can reserve blocks of rooms, and then release some of them at the last minute when they don't fill as anticipated. This probably won't work for the close-in places, but maybe for those further out.Romelle
