stephenf Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 Hi everyone,Brand new to Betterbidding, Priceline and Hotwire!I'm looking for a hotel in Washington DC Mon July 16 and Tues July 17 for my girlfriend and I. We'd really like to stay in White House - Downtown DC. 2nd option would be Dupont Circle. 3rd preference would be for Convention Center. We could afford $140/night but would definitely like to get below that, if at all possible. We'd like a nice hotel, but it doesn't have to be world-beating. 3* would probably be great although 'Median' prices on Priceline seem to be roughly the same for 3* as 3.5*.Any bidding strategy advice/price estimates would be greatly appreciated!Stephen in Scotland(We're also travelling through NYC and Boston in July where we'll try to get the slightly fancier hotels and I plan to repost in the appropriate threads for these at a later date.)
thereuare Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! We'd really like to stay in White House - Downtown DC. 2nd option would be Dupont Circle. 3rd preference would be for Convention Center. Are you willing to pay more for a hotel in the White House zone vs. the Dupont Circlee Zone vs. the Convention Center zone... OR is the least expensive 3*/3.5* or better for this stay the ultimate goal? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. stephenf Posted May 11, 2012 Author Report Posted May 11, 2012 Hi thereuare,Thanks for the reply! For this portion of our trip the priority is getting the cheapest room available. We're going to be travelling without our own transport but won't mind a walk or short taxi to the sights. All the best,Stephen
thereuare Posted May 11, 2012 Report Posted May 11, 2012 So to confirm, your goal is the least expensive 3* or better in...White House - DowntownDupont CircleConvention Center... with a maximum bid of $140 (which i do believe you will get something for less)If the above is correct, at the 3* level you have ONE re-bid zone.
