Vanity99 Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 Hi thereCan I please ask for a favor to ID the following hotel :5 *London Mayfair SohoFitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Spa Services Thank you for your help!
Vanity99 Posted May 10, 2012 Author Report Posted May 10, 2012 Hi There here is another listing I need to figure out :3.5-star Hotel in Mayfair - Soho $277 per night , 6/26 thru 6/30 :This Hotel features the following amenities:Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access CAn anyone help me identifying this hotel ? Thank you!
thereuare Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 Neither of the above have been reported to the board as-is.My guess is that the 5* is the Hilton London on Park Lane and for the 3.5* i think either a new amenity set for the Holiday Inn Mayfair or a downgrade of the Millenium Mayfair since last reported to the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Vanity99 Posted May 11, 2012 Author Report Posted May 11, 2012 Hi thereuare,Thank you for your reply. Do you think this is a new hotel joining Hotwire for this area?. I thought this would be Intercontinental Park Lane but the description has Laundry which is not specified in the Hotwire Hotel list. Are you saying that Millennium Mayfair is currently being downgraded to 3.5* by hotwire ?.Thank you again.
thereuare Posted May 11, 2012 Report Posted May 11, 2012 Are you saying that Millennium Mayfair is currently being downgraded to 3.5* by hotwire ?No, i'm saying if the Millennium Mayfair was downgraded it could be the property offered above (the Holiday Inn Mayfair would be another possibility for the 3.5* property)... we have no way of knowing if this property has been downgraded or not until it's reported to the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Vanity99 Posted May 18, 2012 Author Report Posted May 18, 2012 Hi there, Trying to score a deal in Mayfair but looks like only 5* is available through Hotwire. Priceline did not have many winnings for London either. :(( and the dates are getting closer.... and supply is depleting...So I am still hunting and need help to figure those hotels : 3.5* Westminster are, $220, amenities : Restaurant3.5* Knightsbridge, $265, Amenities: Smoke Free and High Speed InternetWill anyone help me ID these hotels please? Any other advice would be appreciated....Thank you so much!
thereuare Posted May 18, 2012 Report Posted May 18, 2012 With just a solo Restaurant amenity listed we won't be able to add much insight into the Westminster property. The Knightsbridge property shows a 2.0/5.0 Tripadvisor rating, which is pretty bad... is this really something that you'd be interested in?Since you're now expanding beyond only the Mayfair zone, why not try for a 4* hotel on PRICELINE using all zones which you find acceptable? Is there something specific you're looking for from this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Vanity99 Posted May 19, 2012 Author Report Posted May 19, 2012 Hi thereuare,Thanks for the reply.I was exploring out Mayfair because there is nothing else in Mayfair but the 5* with $413 option. Tried to bid in priceline on 5* Mayfair with 4 free bid zones too, up to $320 but to no avail. I am very much keen on Mayfair 5* since some of 4*on price line are really old and the safer option would be on 5* Mayfair.
thereuare Posted May 19, 2012 Report Posted May 19, 2012 I am very much keen on Mayfair 5* since some of 4*on price line are really old and the safer option would be on 5* Mayfair.... then certainly a 3.5* property with a 2.0 Tripadvisor rating wouldn't be a better option ;)What is your game plan moving forward? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Vanity99 Posted May 20, 2012 Author Report Posted May 20, 2012 Hi thereuare, tried price line again until $365 and still not getting it. revisited hotwire and got a 5* with different specs :$410 /night, 5* Mayfair Soho with the following amenities :Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Spa Services Accessible path of travel Wheelchair accessible Can you help me ID this hotel please? Thank you.Back up plan is still price line. If I let say would like to get 4* on Mayfair, how do I get it knowing that the other zones have 4 *. What are the free bid zone for 4* Mayfair then ? Any advice on the game plan though ? Thank you very much!
thereuare Posted May 20, 2012 Report Posted May 20, 2012 This 5* HOTWIRE property has not yet been reported to the board, but the Hilton on Park Lane, Radisson Edwardian Mayfair, and W Leicester Square would all be among the possibilities. In terms of PRICELINE bidding, you have TWO re-bid zones when bidding 4* in London. See this thread for details on how to determine your re-bid zones: Priceline Re-Bidding Explained. Fee free (highly recommended) to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board. If you read the thread above and are confused just post back and we'll break it down further for you. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Vanity99 Posted May 21, 2012 Author Report Posted May 21, 2012 Thanks again for your help. There has been bookings made but apparently people don't post their winnings. :(
Vanity99 Posted May 29, 2012 Author Report Posted May 29, 2012 Hi thereuare, can i ask your help to identify this 4.5* Hotel in London, Mayfair-Soho, 06/27 thru 06/30$411/night, 65% recommended by Hotwire customers.4.5-star Hotel in Mayfair - SohoThis Hotel features the following amenities:Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Roll-in shower Thank you
thereuare Posted May 29, 2012 Report Posted May 29, 2012 What would you be looking for from this 4.5* property? With a 65% recommendation from previous HOTWIRE guests and a 3.0/5.0 TA rating (neither of these are very good) in what way would this be better than the current 5* offer which is not only better rated (4.0/5.0 TA rating) but is also priced less??Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Romelle Posted May 29, 2012 Report Posted May 29, 2012 For London, beyond Mayfair there have been the following Priceline zones reported here with 5* hotels:Bloomsbury - Marble ArchDocklandsNottinghill - BayswaterWestminsterMaybe one of the above zones could work for you? There are also quite a few of the zones with 4.5*s .....Hotwire hasn't had any area other than Mayfair reported with a 5*.Romelle
Vanity99 Posted May 30, 2012 Author Report Posted May 30, 2012 Thanks for the reply guys....I am quite certain that the 5* quoted in hot-wire is not Hilton on Park Lane or Intercontinental which I was hoping to get. I kinda suspect it is going to be W at Leceister. So I am sitting on the fence. However, just re-check with Hotwire and found nothing. Only 2 star hotel in Westminster and Nottinghill. :((Bid at price line up to $360 on Mayfair with 4 rebid zones and still did not get through. Tried 4* at Mayfair so far at $175 and has not gotten anything yet.
thereuare Posted May 30, 2012 Report Posted May 30, 2012 However, just re-check with Hotwire and found nothing.I think HOTWIRE is having a communication issue at the moment as i'm seeing little/no inventory for most of searches i've done in the last few hours. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Vanity99 Posted May 31, 2012 Author Report Posted May 31, 2012 Finally hot-wire is back. Found this hotel and wonder if you can help me guess which one it is :4.5* May Fair -Soho , $335 per night, 95% recommended by hot-wire customersIndoor pool(s) Smoke Free Rooms Fitness Center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business Center Laundry Facilities (self-service) High-Speed Internet Access Spa Services Accessible for the blind Braille or raised signageAccessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Roll-in shower Thank you!
thereuare Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 I'm not currently seeing this property offered when searching HOTWIRE for your dates... are you still seeing the above on your own search? If so, are you searching HOTWIRE for more than one room or for more than the default 2adults/0children? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Vanity99 Posted May 31, 2012 Author Report Posted May 31, 2012 Thanks for the reply thereuare. my apology the dates are actually changing to 27 june through 30 June. Still looking for 1 room for 2 adults only.
Romelle Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 It is showing now. The only Hotwire 4.5* Mayfair-Soho reported thus far is the Le Meridien Piccadilly. That reported list of amenities is much shorter, but does include all your listed ones. It could also be a regrade from either the 4*s or the 5*s ?? As you can see, things pop off and on the Hotwire offerings rather quickly. If you see something you like, best to not hesitate too long. However, if something you liked goes away, it may come back again.Romelle
Romelle Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 Forgot to mention a couple things. The Hotwire offering I saw was $333. That might be just a result of currency fluctuation. The Recommendation number was 90% rather than the 95% you saw.
Vanity99 Posted May 31, 2012 Author Report Posted May 31, 2012 Hi Romelie,Thanks for your reply. Hotwire is having one day sale so I finally booked this hotel for $333/night/excluding tax , grand total cost for 3 nights is $1,211.63. Now I am good for my european summer trip! Thanks again !
Romelle Posted May 31, 2012 Report Posted May 31, 2012 I'm glad you are set. Was it in fact the Le Meridien Piccadilly? Romelle
