Heather MB Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 I was excited to get this hotel and hoping it would have been this one and not one up in La Jolla as I wanted to be as close to Point Loma as possible for Mother's Day. I know the reveiws at this place are mixed but I think that depends on what you are paying for the property. I would probably not pay the $255 asking price from the hotel's website but you can't go wrong with $74!! I even called and they made sure to set me up with 2 queen beds and I am planning on asking for a free room upgrade wheh I check in :) I looked up some wins for Priceline's name your own price to determine how good my chances were of getting either this hotel or the Hyatt nearby because I did not want to get one in La Jolla. There seemed to be some recent activity that pointed to this hotel but you never can be too sure. I first tried $70, then $72, then won it at $74. I am very happy with this win. FYI, Hotwire was asking $129 for their 4 star reports in this area (either Paradise Point or the Hyatt) so this time Priceline gave me a steal!! Make sure you thoroughly look into the wins before deciding which one to go with. I am normally a Hotwire girl because I like the location options better but took a chance based on my research and it paid off!!
