BambooLounge Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 I am looking to go on a road trip the week of 6/17 to 6/24 with the following hotel stays:6/17 (one night) - Saint Louis, MO6/18 (one night) - Memphis, TN6/19 (one night) - Shreveport, LA6/20-6/23 (three nights) - Austin, TX6/23 (one night) - Memphis, TNI am looking to stay in no less than a 3-star hotel in each city and my ideal bid per night is about $60-80. Is this road trip possible for that price? Also, I am new to this forum, so I was not sure how to go about asking for advice on an entire road trip. Should I be posting this in the board for each state I plan to spend a night?
AaronJB Posted May 7, 2012 Report Posted May 7, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Sounds like a fun trip! Please post a separate thread in each state forum for each stop on the trip. We'll use this thread for the STL stay.In terms of STL, were you looking to stay downtown, or stay in one of the outlying areas. The latter will offer a savings in terms of not having to pay for parking, but require a trip in if you are going to be downtown a lot.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
BambooLounge Posted May 7, 2012 Author Report Posted May 7, 2012 I am completely unfamiliar with the area, but if the Arch (and other tourist-type attraction areas) are not a far drive (30 minutes) from the outlying areas, I would be happy to save on parking and then drive in for a day or evening in the tourist-type areas.

thereuare Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 The Downtown zone in this area is usually fairly inexpensive, but i assume the hotels in this zone charge for parking... do you want to only bid outside this zone, bid Downtown only for convenience on your first stop, or take the least expensive 3* or better in any of your acceptable zones (understanding that the parking charge, if any, would be unknown)Please confirm which zones you're willing to accept and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. BambooLounge Posted May 8, 2012 Author Report Posted May 8, 2012 I'm willing to take the cheapest in any of the zones, but if there is a difference of only $10 or so between Downtown and a zone with free parking, I'd take the free parking.
thereuare Posted May 8, 2012 Report Posted May 8, 2012 At the 3* level in St Louis you have TWO re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3* Downtown, Fenton, Forest Park, OFallon, Airport...
