schminky Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 Hello,I love your site and always use it to peruse HOTWIRE and PRICELINE. I was able to get a great rate for a January stay in Maui thanks to this site's recommendations and I need some assistance again.I am looking for a London Docklands hotel for Oct 7th to Oct 10th. Hotwire is listing a 3* for $105 a night. Your list shows only two options, the Holiday Inn Express Royal Docks and the Holiday Inn Express Greenwich. I'd be happy with either one, but I wondered if there could be any other options not listed. I appreciate your time and help!:)
thereuare Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 The Priceline Hotel list only contains hotels reproted to the board, so there could always be other properties which have not yet been reported to the board, new hotels recently added to the system, or an already 'known' property which has been upgraded since last reported to the board. See the comments at the top of the Priceline Hotel List on this subject. With PRICELINE you need to be able to accept any hotel in the zone at the star level (or higher) that you choose. If you're trying to target/avoid a specific hotel, with HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel you're hoping for.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. schminky Posted May 17, 2012 Author Report Posted May 17, 2012 So, I finally just decided to take a chance and purchase the hotel for 10/7/2012 - 10/10/2012 and it ended up being the Holiday Inn Express London-Limehouse for $104 a night. I was kind of hoping for the HI Express Greenwich as it's closer to the O2 where I'm seeing a couple of concerts, but the Limehouse seems well reviewed and close to public transport. :)
thereuare Posted May 17, 2012 Report Posted May 17, 2012 Congratulations on your success! While not the perfect hotel for this trip, sounds like it will still work out quite fine and that you're pleased with the results.Thank you for sharing your win with the board. To confirm, this was a hotw.wire purchase? If so, can you please add a reply to this thread with the amenities shown before your purchase... you can still view this information by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page (if you actually used PRICELINE just let us know and we'll move this thread to that section of the board)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
