Booked Philadelphia Intl Airport pick up and drop off for 4 day rental.

I started bidding 3 weeks prior and was unsuccessful from $13 all the way up to $24. Hotwire rates were just under $30 at the time. I began to just watch prices for the next few weeks and noticed a gradual decline over time until today (May/5/12) when I saw a slight rise and decided it was time to bid again.

I started today at $14 for economy and was rejected and counter offered at $16. I declined and went for compact at $15 and was accepted by Hertz. The total price (inc taxes and fees) difference for a 4 day rental between $16 per day vs $15 per day was only $2 and some change... go figure.

Also, I was hoping for National as I heard their rates include insurance which in my particular case I will have to purchase separately.

Happy with the price overall.
