chrispee Posted April 30, 2012 Report Posted April 30, 2012 I'm looking to book a hotel for Palm Springs from May 18-10, can anyone identify a 3.5* with the following amenities?ResortFree ParkingFree InternetAirport ShuttleSmoke Free RoomsFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterHigh-Speed Internet AccessGolf NearbyTennis NearbySpa ServicesHotwire has it at $94.93 per night, and I'm guessing it's the Hyatt Regency Suites Palm Springs but I'm not sure? Thanks for your help!
thereuare Posted April 30, 2012 Report Posted April 30, 2012 Please change the currency drop down menu on the top right of HOTWIRE's page to US Dollars (and if applicable the country to United States). Then continue to search HOTWIRE and post to the board in US Dollars so that rates are consistent and not subject to interpretation due to future currency fluctuation. Once you're ready to purchase simply change the drop down menu to whatever currency you'd like to use and complete your purchase.Using the board link to HOTWIRE, what is the rate per nite in US Dollars and please clarify the date(s) of your stay (as it's listed above as May 18-10).Thanks. chrispee Posted April 30, 2012 Author Report Posted April 30, 2012 Sorry, I typo'd, my dates are actually May 18-20. It shows up as $95 in USD. I just noticed that the hotel only gets a 50% reviewer recommendation... :/
thereuare Posted May 1, 2012 Report Posted May 1, 2012 Best guess for the property above is the Doral Desert Princess. If this is not of interest, what is your maximum bid for this trip... as there is a 3.5* Condo for $109 which has better reviews for not much more in price. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and/or how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise further. chrispee Posted May 1, 2012 Author Report Posted May 1, 2012 Yes, that condo sounds tempting, but I think I'll probably hold off for another week and see if I can get a 4* or Resort property for around $110 or less. It looks pretty tough to score a big deal in Palm Springs right now!
thereuare Posted May 1, 2012 Report Posted May 1, 2012 Is Cathedral City the only zone in this region that you're looking to stay in or are there any other zones which would be acceptable? Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.Keep us updated on your progress and let us know if we can be of further help along the way. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
chrispee Posted May 1, 2012 Author Report Posted May 1, 2012 I'd stay in any zone. The hotel/condo/resort is more important than the location to me as we're just looking to get some sun by the pool.
thereuare Posted May 2, 2012 Report Posted May 2, 2012 What would be your maximum budget per nite? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. chrispee Posted May 2, 2012 Author Report Posted May 2, 2012 I'd do up to $130 for a resort, $120 4*, and $100 3.5* if I could identify that it had a decent pool area. Can you ID the 3.5 star condo mentioned above? Thanks for your help!
thereuare Posted May 2, 2012 Report Posted May 2, 2012 My guess for the Condo is a new amenity set for the Desert Oasis Resort (34567 Cathedral Canyon Drive). Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you decide to do for this stay or if we can be of further help. chrispee Posted May 5, 2012 Author Report Posted May 5, 2012 I've been bidding for a Palm Springs resort property for May 18-20 for the past couple of weeks with no success up to $140. Today I gave up and split my bid. Got the La Quinta Resort first try at $91 so probably left a few dollars on the table, but a good deal nonetheless. Tried to add the night of the 18th but was denied.
