I'm having great difficulty in bidding. Have tried for a few days and also having my wife bidding.

We'd like a 4* hotel in either TS, CPS, MTE, MTW, or DFD for May 16, checking out on May 20.

We're up to $230 so far, using the free rebid technique. Don't really want to go much above that. Shall we try 3.5*s?

I've had good luck in the past with Grand Hyatt on 42nd St and World Center Hotel in the financial district - in the $200 area. I wonder if there are some big conferences in Manhattan in this time period.

Many thanks....

At the moment i don't even think that lowering your star rating is going to help you get a hotel at $235/nite or less for this complete stay... these are very expensive dates in the city. Based upon current rates i think you'll need to be closer to $300/nite for these dates.

Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID and/or staying outside the city and commuting in an option? For example, you could probably get something a 4* hotel in Hoboken-Jersey City with easy PATH train access to the city for about your current budget, which is expensive for the area, but not relative to NYC prices for these dates.
