kej7t Posted May 3, 2012 Report Posted May 3, 2012 My wife and I are looking for a 4 or 5 star hotel in Manhattan for 2 nights (5/18 and 5/19). We are flexible on the area we would stay, but would like to be in midtown to lower east side or soho region...Would like to avoid financial district if possible. Willing to pay up to $215 for a 4/5*? Do you think this is possible? Any advice? We would also look at 3.5 and 3 star places if the rate is a bit less ($200 or less).I have bene trying for a few days and have not had any luck with a max bid of $185 for anthing from 3.5 to 5 star in the following zones, Chelsea, MSG, ESB, Lower East Side, Soho, Times Square, Midtown East. Please help, my wife is going to kill me if I don't get something booked and I don't want to get stuck with a $300+ room.On Hotwire the only thing I am able to find at this point is a 4 star room in Midtown East for $294. I think this may be the W which has a rate of $309 on traditional bidding, but this is too much for us.Cany you help?

kej7t Posted May 3, 2012 Author Report Posted May 3, 2012 Thank, I have read "My Messages" and will use the links moving forward. Staying outside outside of Manhattan is not an option. But the location within Manhattan is flexbile, but would like to avoid Financial district if at all possible.Hope you can help.
thereuare Posted May 3, 2012 Report Posted May 3, 2012 I would bid up to your limits and include all acceptable zone(s). If you list the all zones that are acceptable at each star rating we can outline a bidding strategy for you to follow, but i'm not seeing anything within your budget at the moment and basically you're hoping some hotel lowers their rates in the next two weeks as i don't see your budget current being enough for these very expensive dates i the city. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
