Flanagan Posted July 26, 2003 Report Posted July 26, 2003 Jumps around in price beteween $111 and $190 and lists only the restaurant icon. I'm wondering if it is the Mercer hotel. Anyone ever gotten this one?
thereuare Posted July 27, 2003 Report Posted July 27, 2003 Anything is possible, but i'd be doubtful. The Mercer has a Fitness Center (not shown in Hotwire's amenity icon, although it wouldn't be the first time an amenity wasn't shown) and the lowest rate i found for them was close to $400, and i don't think they'd be discounting that much.I'll continue hunting to see if anything turns up. Flanagan Posted July 27, 2003 Author Report Posted July 27, 2003 Thanks. I guress the reason i thought it ws the Mercer was that the gym is not actualy located in the hotel but across the street and guests have access to it. There don't appear to be any other hotels in this part of town that fit the description. I might take a chnce on it anyway...
thereuare Posted July 27, 2003 Report Posted July 27, 2003 In that case you could be right, as i have never been to the Mercer but was only going by the decscription of the fitness center. hanumansf Posted August 14, 2003 Report Posted August 14, 2003 I would be shocked if this was the Mercer. I'm guessing they would have at least a 4* rating.Good luck.
Gabe Luis Posted August 29, 2003 Report Posted August 29, 2003 TOBB lists a 3 star Holiday Inn Downtown/Soho, on Lafayette Street, so that might be it.
thereuare Posted August 29, 2003 Report Posted August 29, 2003 Gabe, Welcome to BetterBidding. The Holiday Inn does indeed list a restaurant as an amenity (as do most other NYC hotels) so it is indeed a possibility. Gabe Luis Posted August 29, 2003 Report Posted August 29, 2003 Thanks for the welcome. Great site! My wife and I are going to New York on 09/26 and 09/27, and we wanted to stay in Tribeca/Soho. Priceline was no good, because we might wind up in the Financial District. I tried Hotwire, but their 4 star Tribeca hotel (which, based on this site I figured to be the Tribeca Grand) was going for $217. Instead, I went on the Tribeca Grand's own website, where the standard room was $229. I signed up for their Grand Guests program, got a 10% discount, and wound up upgrading my room to a Grand King for $225 (just $8 more than hotwire, but for what I assume is a bigger room). Our next trip to New York, later in the fall, will be with the kids, so we won't be so interested in a "hip" hotel, and priceline may be a better option then.Keep up the good work.Gabe
