Priceline Hotel: 4* Amsterdam (City Center) Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel

Hi all. I used a $7 per night reward, so I really only payed $80/night. With the reward, this is a good price based on my past experience, especially because it's on the weekend and in summer. I've stayed at this hotel before, and I know it to be very nice with newly renovated, if a little small, rooms. The location is also VERY central, which is good.

This time I was actually looking for something really cheap, as in a 2* or 3* hotel (because I'll be there alone and I just needed a crash pad). I bid as high as $75 on an 3* and included the the Center City, Canals, AND EVEN the more remote North and Rai areas!

Does anyone have any experience in getting a cheap 2* or 3* hotel in A-dam? Or, are you all ballers?! Lol. All the winning bids are always for 4* and 5*s, which I guess offer the best discount value anyway.

Glad to see you're pleased with the results and were able to take advantage of the current bonus money offer. If you look at the Priceline Hotel List you'll see that there have been some 3* properties reported to the board in Amsterdam, but most reported wins are are at the 4* level. This is likely due to the higher rated hotels offering a better value than the lower rated properties (it's much easier for a 4* $200/nite hotel to discount their rate by 50% than it is for a 3* $100/nite hotel to discount their rate by 50%)... and also because star ratings are a bit more generous in Europe than their US counterparts, so a 3* in Amsterdam may be more like a 2* hotel in the US, which can be a bit less quality then most people are looking for on their vacation.
