Priceline Hotel: NYC - Midtown 5/16-5/19

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

NYC is difficult in this regard, as even at a number of 3.5*/4* properties, rooms can be as small as 130-150 square feet and having a room small enough to not fit a rollaway is not uncommon. PRICELINE only guarantees 1 bed/double occupancy - HOTWIRE would be a better choice, as one can indicate the amount of people in the room and guarantee some form of bedding for the party (could be 2 beds or 1 + sofa or 1 + rollaway). However, HOTWIRE only allows one to search for up to 4 people, and having 5 in the room becomes a risk (while it may not wind up being a problem, the hotel may have an issue if there's room occupancy limits.) There is no way to guarantee *exact* bedding when using either service.

What would be your desired budget per night for this stay?

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Unfortunately i don't see how you'll likely be able to do this within your budget...

PRICELINE would be too much of a risk, imo, as they only guarantee double occupancy and in NYC chances are high that you'd receive a room with only one bed.

Through conventional booking channels searching for 1room/2adults/3children the least expensive property i saw started in the mid-$300's.

Searching HOTWIRE for 1room/2adults/2children (assuming you're willing to take the risk(s) of booking quad occupancy when you'll actually be five people) the only offer within your budget is a $288/nite hotel... but at only 2.5* and in the Downtown zone this is neither the star quality nor the zone(s) that you're looking for.

If you're willing to stay outside the city and commute in, when doing the HOTWIRE search for 1room/2adults/2children a 4* hotel appears in the Jersey City zone for $265/nite which i suspect is likely the Westin. If so, this property is a 5 minute walk to the PATH station which takes you into the city in ~15 minutes. It's a do-able option for those looking for a cheaper alternative to Manhattan, but it's obviously not as convenient (or 'cool') as staying directly in Manhattan, and you still have the quad/quint occupancy issue (although this is usually a bit more manageable in a suburb of the city like this than directly in Manhattan itself)

Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.
