ChicagoUM Posted May 1, 2012 Author Report Posted May 1, 2012 Thank you for the reply. When I clicked on the links provided, it appears that the options have changed slightly since I last checked Hotwire. The 2 hotels that I'm looking at are as follows:Dates - 5/18-5/20Magnificent Mile Area - River North area hotel, 4.5*Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business Center, (High-Speed Internet Access also shown when "See all amenities" is clicked)Recommended by 90%$167 per night (increased by $2, but also now allows me to choose king bed which it didn't before - king bed cost = $172)Chicago Loop - Millenium Park - Grant Park area hotel, 4*Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Laundry Facilities (self-service), (High-Speed Internet Access and Spa Services also shown when "See all amenities" is clicked)Recommended by 95%$160 per night ($163 if king bed is reserved)From looking at other posts in the forum, it looks like the 4.5* might be The Intercontinental and the 4* may be the Hyatt or Palmer House.Any help on the board's best guess would be greatly appreciated!
thereuare Posted May 1, 2012 Report Posted May 1, 2012 Although it would be a new amenity set reported to the board, best guess for the 4.5* is the InterContinental... this property has been seen with all of these amenities previously, but just not grouped together in this specific combination.Best guess for the 4* Loop-Millenium Park-Grant Park property would be the Hyatt Regency... the Palmer House is in a different zone based upon the recent HOTWIRE boundary changes (it's in the Downtown-West Loop zone)Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
ChicagoUM Posted May 2, 2012 Author Report Posted May 2, 2012 Thank you very much for your reply!Upon reviewing my Priority Club status, I realized that I have enough points to stay 2 nights at Hotel Indigo in the Gold Coast area by using only my points. I'm thinking about booking that. Have you heard any good/bad things about this property? If I choose to not go with Hotel Indigo, I will be sure to use the HOTWIRE link that has been provided above and will close the thread with what the bidding results were.
AaronJB Posted May 2, 2012 Report Posted May 2, 2012 I liked the Indigo when I stayed there, but do be aware that it's at the very top end of the zone in the Gold Coast area (a few minutes walk North of the North end of the North Michigan Ave. area.) Rooms are nice and comfortable (like all Indigo properties, it's sort of a Beach House-style), but rooms are on the small side (this was an older property that was redone as an Indigo 5-6 years ago.)It's not centrally located, but a nice area with restaurants/nightlife. There's a really nice Farmers Market on Saturdays a block South (I think it's probably started by Mid-may.)Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links, and please let us know what you decide.
