Priceline Hotel: 5* Las Vegas - 6/29-7/1 On the Strip

Hi, I'm new to the forum (and the whole bidding thing) and in need of some help.

So we want to go Fri 6/29 to Sun 7/01 and would like a 5*, the area doesn't matter. Of course, wynn or venetian would be terrific.

I want to start the bid at $80 (is that too low?) but I don't know where to stop. What is an average bid for a 5*?

Let's see if I understand this correctly. I bid $80, if rejected add re-bid in a zone without a 5* (like Boulder Strip, right?)

Welcome to BetterBidding!

To confirm, both the Strip North and Strip South zones are acceptable, correct? What about the Trump, which is in PRICELINE's Strip North Vicinity zone and is located slightly off-strip... would this be acceptable as well?

Once we know the above we'll research rates for your dates more closely, but would going as high as $150 be within your budget?

Thanks for the reply thereuare.

Yes, North or South are acceptable. Somewhere in the middle and on the strip would be even better. The wynn and venetian are a little too north, but we were willing to compromised because they are so nice, and we've never stay there. But Trump is a little too far & off the strip.

$150/night is a too much.. I kind of knew $80 for the wynn would be too little. The cheapest I found was $250/night with a 3 night minimum.

I guess my best bet would be in the city center, bellagio or caesars. I received a deal thru mlife for the Aria for $180/night with $100 room credit.

Any sugestions.. Am I kidding myself thinking that I'm going to get a 5* for a little as $110? should I just bid on a 4*?

It may be more than you're willing to pay, but it's certainly not unreasonable with hotel direct rates at $250/nite.

My guess is that $110 will not be enough, and you could be successful below $150, but the 'right' number lies somewhere in between.

If you want to give it a try with a $110 limit you can bid as follows:

At the 5* level in Vegas you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 5* Strip North and Strip South...

Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $88, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $93, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $98, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $103, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $108, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $110

Any questions feel free to ask. If the above is rejected let us know if you then want to try for a 4* hotel in either of the above zones (or if you want to try again at the 5* level with a higher maximum bid) and we'll revise the strategy accordingly.
