Hi! I was hoping to bid on a standard class vehicle for 15 days, pickup and drop-off at San Diego airport.

I do have a backup reservation:

Date: July 13-28

Days: 14 days / 23 hours

Rate: $29.13/day

Tax: $103.57

Total: $518.21

Currently at Hotwire, the standard class rates are $29.95/day for a total of $597.35. What would your recommended starting bid be?

I assume the $29.13/day is your back-up reservation?

If so, with plenty of time on your side i'd start at $17 and increase $2 per day every 24 hours. I wouldn't think your chances are 'good' until you get into the mid-$20's, but i'd at least start at $17 in hopes of some very low priced inventory being in the system.
