Priceline Hotel: Help NYC 5/7/12 - 5/9/12

Looking for at least 3 1/2 star for next Monday - Wed. Budget around $200 /night. Midtown, Empire State, Times Squire, any of those areas would be OK. I tried bidding up to $190 and got rejected. Any thoughts or suggestions for when I try again tomorrow? It's a last minute trip....is it to close to my arrival date to use price line effectively?
