ilyag2 Posted April 25, 2012 Report Posted April 25, 2012 Denied at $250 for 4* in Times Square and Midtown West for 5/8 and 5/9.
thereuare Posted April 26, 2012 Report Posted April 26, 2012 Welcome to BetterBidding! What is your maximum bid for this trip and/or at what point will you consider lowering your star level or including other nearby zones? Is there a reason you're not including other popular 4* level zones such as ESB, CPS and/or MTE?At current prices my guess is that you're going to need to be closer to, and likely break above, $300/nite for a 4* in either of the zones above.Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. ilyag2 Posted May 1, 2012 Author Report Posted May 1, 2012 Hotwire rate for 4* Chelsea is $370, only $322 with Expedia Unpublished Rate. May 8 - May 10.I think I've narrowed it down to either the Hilton New York Fashion District or the Doubletree, both of which are published at Expedia at $389/night. Can anyone confirm? Also, Expedia describes its unpublished 4* hotel as a "boutique" hotel. Does that disqualify either of the Hiltons?[bTW, went up to $330/night at Priceline using the methods learned here but not luck.]Thanks.

thereuare Posted May 1, 2012 Report Posted May 1, 2012 This might be the Flatiron Hotel Toshi or the TRYP Times Square South, but i'm not certain... i'm also not certain/convinced that this is the same 4* hotel you're seeing on HOTWIRE (which has more amenities then this Expedia property). Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. ilyag2 Posted May 1, 2012 Author Report Posted May 1, 2012 I booked with Expedia Unpublished and got the Flatiron @ $320/night. Very pleased. Thanks for your help. I am a Priceline vet but never seem to have any luck booking a 4* in NYC with it. I appreciate the tips I learned on this site.
