Jango832 Posted April 30, 2012 Report Posted April 30, 2012 Hi everyone, I'm a little new to Priceline and I know a friend of mine used it once to get us great rates, that's how I got here.I need some advice to find a hotel in NY for September 7th to 14th, and I'd like to find one in Manhattan, possibly in Midtown (West or East) or close to Times Square. Do you think I stand any chance, knowing that I'd like to pay $200-250 a night ?Thanks in advance !

Jango832 Posted May 11, 2012 Author Report Posted May 11, 2012 Hi,I'd like at least 3 or 3.5 stars.Thanks in advance.
thereuare Posted May 11, 2012 Report Posted May 11, 2012 I'd like at least 3 or 3.5 stars. Are you willing to pay more for a 3.5* vs. a 3* OR is your goal the least expensive 3* or better for this trip? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Jango832 Posted May 12, 2012 Author Report Posted May 12, 2012 Oops sorry about the links, it's OK now, I have clicked twice.Concerning my hotel search, I'd really like not to go over $250 per night. 3* will be fine, but if I can find a 3.5* hotel, it will be great !Thanks !
thereuare Posted May 13, 2012 Report Posted May 13, 2012 I do think you should be able to get something within your budget, but a few questions to better hone in on the best deal..Are MTE, MTW, and TS the only acceptable zones? At the 3.5* and 3* level MSG and/or ESB are also frequently bid (although in the MSG zone note that there is at least one note that tends to give PRICELINE / HOTWIRE / 3rd party booking customers the smallest rooms in the house... would this be acceptable (at the right price) or would you prefer to not include this zone?Alternately, HOTWIRE has a 3* hotel in the ESB zone for $180/nite with amenities of Restaurant and Internet. This amenity set has previously been seen associated with the Bedford Hotel and that would be my best guess for this one (if correct, it's well located and just 2 blocks from Grand Central station)If you want to move forward with PRICELINE let us know the zones you're willing to accept (and if the HOTWIRE property is acceptable if you want to lower your maximum bid to $180) OR if you like the idea of the likely Bedford Hotel and want to just purchase the HOTWIRE offer at this price. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
