MrCyclone Posted April 29, 2012 Report Posted April 29, 2012 Would you please provide me with a strategy for booking a room for a family of four? There will be two adults and two children for an arrival on Saturday, July 28, and departure on Tuesday, July 31. We'd like to stay on the Mile since we will be visiting the Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum and a Cubs game. If possible, I'd like to obtain a four star hotel for under $150 per night. Do you think my price range is achievable and would you have a bidding strategy? I appreciate your time and consideration. Thanks
AaronJB Posted April 29, 2012 Report Posted April 29, 2012 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)An issue with PRICELINE is that it only guarantees double occupancy/1 bed. While two beds can be requested with the hotel after the purchase is made, the hotel can say no or charge more. HOTWIRE is generally a better choice for a party of four, as you can indicate four people and ensure some form of bedding for the entire party.Would HOTWIRE be of interest, or would you be more interested in taking the risk with PRICELINE? If so, are you only interested in the River North-NMA area?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
MrCyclone Posted April 29, 2012 Author Report Posted April 29, 2012 Aaron,I'm willing to take a chance on PRICELINE. Also, I'd be willing to expand the area as long as we could walk around safely and be near Michigan Avenue. Should I include the Loop? Thanks for your help.

ontapiaworld Posted July 22, 2012 Report Posted July 22, 2012 HI!I am also traveling to Chicago 7/27-7/29 and am looking to stay in/near Mag Mile. I have searching high and low and am having trouble finding a hotel in my $150 range. Am I asking for too much? Apparently there is a Midwest Conference that has vacancy rates too low for any deals I've learned of. Please help!!!desperate traveler
