Hotwire Hotel: 4* Chicago (Downtown - West Loop) Palmer House Hilton

Hello-

I am trying to get some insight into the 3 1/2 star hotel in the Magnificent Mile-River North area of Chicago with 90% recommended ($84). Amenities are fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, and high speed internet access.

The second hotel is a 4* in the same area with 90% recommended ($135) with amenities smoke free rooms, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, and high speed internet access.

Both are for May 22-24.

My guess for the 3.5* is the Doubletree and the 4* guess would be the Sheraton.

Personally, out of those two I think the potential Doubletree is a much better value. Location-wise, they're two blocks from each other.

Looking around your site, the first seems to be the Palmer House Hilton and the second the Hyatt Regency but I'm not sure. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Yes, it does replace the earlier thread. I was not sure how to do that given different area, star-level, and slightly different dates. Does that typically go in same thread as original or start a new one?

Anyway, any help you can provide with the 4-star hotels would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the follow-up; the 4* West Loop would be a likely match for the Palmer, while the 4* Loop-Mp-Gp would be a likely match for the Hyatt.

I also see what appears to be a possible match for the Sutton Place or Public (although more likely the former) for $143, but those hotels are in the Gold Coast area, which is a couple minutes walk North of the top end of the North Michigan Ave. shopping area. I also see the Doubletree for $112. Let us know if you are interested in those two properties and we would be happy to point them out on HOTWIRE.
