thereuare Posted April 30, 2012 Report Posted April 30, 2012 Please remember to follow-up your threads with whatever you end up doing for each stay (even if you don't use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc) as it helps keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone.I am looking for a hotel in NYC June 7-10.Considering 4 star, Midtown East or Times Square perhaps.Max I want to pay is 200. Anywhere between 130-180 is ideal!Should we only include MTE in a bidding strategy or also include Times Square? (and/or any other zones) Based upon current rates i think a 4* hotel in either of these zones will cost you more than $200/nite, and we will of course start lower and bid up gradually, but exactly what number should we use as your maximum bid amount? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. minnie22 Posted May 1, 2012 Author Report Posted May 1, 2012 I don't think I will be bidding over $200 at this point. I figure my chances may be slim, but it's worth a shot!If it increases my chances I will do both MTE and TS.thanks!

minnie22 Posted May 1, 2012 Author Report Posted May 1, 2012 Would 4* Lower East Side work as a re-bid zone??thanks!
thereuare Posted May 2, 2012 Report Posted May 2, 2012 You have SEVEN re-bid zones, are you able to identify all of them?If not, try the following and post your findings:1) Use the PRICELINE search box on the upper right of this page, enter 'New York City' and your dates, and click "GO".2) List each zone that is offered in this region. 3) Next to each zone list the highest star rating offered in the zone. The way to determine the highest star rating offered in the zone is by selecting the first zone i the list, then scrolling down to see the highest star rating selectable (ie- not greyed out). NEXT UNcheck the selected zone, place a checkmark in the next zone, and repeat the process for each zone in the region. Each time you take note of the highest star rating in the zone, make sure that only ONE zone is selected above.4) post your findings and we'll take it from thereIf you don't follow the above just post back and we'll break it down further. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. thereuare Posted May 6, 2012 Report Posted May 6, 2012 If you're looking for a casual place for lunch/dinner not too far from the hotel i often recommend this place which i like a lot... it's reasonably priced for for the quality of the ingredients used:Adrienne's Pizza Bar54 Stone StNew York, NY 10004It's a restaurant, not a slice shop... stick with the 'grandma pie' (rectangle shaped but not thick like sicilian) which is what they're best known for. (NOTE: drinks are a bit on the pricey side)Have a great trip. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
